Actions & Matters Arising
- Cycling in the high street.
- Not enough signage- signage is appropriate according to the council.
- Behaviour on the bikes like speeding on the bikes.
- Regular ops being carried out and seizing the bikes.
- Speak with the ASB team on helping out – Tom to look into further.
- A/PS Riz has sent an email to Holy Family school regarding kids hanging around the bus station and spoken to mall.
- Emmanuel team to introduce return to school scheme.
- Riz and Jason to work with tom to get more notices about ward panel meetings to get more members.
- Safer Transport PCSO’s working with the station about safety announcements.
Police Report & discussion
- Staffing updates – Lucy has left and getting new "police now" officers to help out High Street and St James.
- 4 business robbery’s – JD’s snatch and grabs
- 6 Burglaries – 4 commercial and 2 residential – more plain clothes operations
- 35 thefts on the high street - 17 theft from a person – 5 shop lifting – 0 bike theft – mainly dipping offences and phone thefts (18 of total). – Working on an idea for decoy officer to get hold of culprits and facial recognitions operations happening on the high street. Snatches of phones on the rise but same issues with pursuits and identification.
- Reporters to put notification about keeping property safe to help the police and putting it in the group chats.
- Ask for quotes for barriers to stop people from coming on and off the pavement to stop the phone thefts – Jason and James to deal but funding issues.
- Station are doing announcement regarding pick pockets and phone thefts.
- Walthamstow the latest area to be hit but phone thefts happening across London for a while now.
- Windows getting broken on cars in the local area – not much info on things getting stolen so could be a vandalism issue. Reports of people sleeping in the cars when broken in to. 6 Theft from M/V, 3 theft of M/V.
- High Street team training officers on stop and search.
- ASB team work with local residents around stop and search to educate and also with the schools.
- 2 sexual offences in the high street ward – officers been given out advice at the local university.
- VAWG – 3 domestic offences. 14 others
- 1 Drug offence – 1 PWITS – Around Hatherley mews
- 12 ASB issues on the High Street most re offenders with CPN’s and CPW’s – Sainsbury’s being a main issue in the stair wells
- James and the ASB team working with rough sleepers.
- Project Adder running at the moment to deal with drug users and helping them which involves charity Change Grow Live.
- Rumours of MALI BOYS return? Emmanuel Addo to double check with the gang team at CAM RD.
- BBC protest from "Lighhouse" group happening in the area and will be an ongoing issue but all teams aware of it.
Any Other Business
- School kids coming into Hoe Street, schools have been guiding students in regards to this
- Kids hanging around the CRATE on Selbourne walk around the toilets and baby changing area.
- ASB team to get the word out on large gatherings and the impact it has on the community and give information about where they can go without it being an issue.
- Issues around lost property and the correct way of handing in found property.
- Emmanuel has leaflets around reporting incidents and the different channels
- Green Spaces Team going to be around the local area previously done at Lloyds park and was a success.
- Legality around e-bikes in the cycle lane, SNT and Council to carry on doing ops to combat the issue.
